Before & After
Roll-Coating
Roll-coating a poured-in-place rubber matting surface involves the application of binder (glue) to the surface of the playground rubber matting with a roller. This is the same binder used during the initial construction of the rubber matting. As rubber matting ages, the glue degrades with use and exposure to the Hawaiian sun. Applying new binder slows down and prevents this degradation, extending the life of the playground surface. Roll-coating can delay or even prevent cracks in the surface that are expected over time.
